So...We're Really Doing This?..

You ever sit down before work, your morning coffee, or a simple to-do list, and somehow your brain decides to take you on a full-blown journey? One thought turns into another, then another, and before you know it, you’ve created an entire mind map in your head.
Welp… safe to say, you’ve met your match.
I’m Alycia Iman, creator, dreamer, corporate gilie, businesswoman, believer, over-thinker, big thinker, and honestly… just a woman figuring this thing called life out in real time.
I’ve wanted to create a blog for a long time. Like, for real wanted to. I’ve always loved sharing, creating, talking, learning, discovering new things, and connecting with people. But for the longest time, I think I had the wrong idea of what a blog was supposed to be. I thought about the fear of my privacy,I like being in my bubble. I also thought about the opportunities, the aesthetics, the numbers, the reach, and all the things that come with building a platform. And while those things can absolutely be amazing, they were never the real reason I wanted to do this.
I wanted a place where I could connect. A place where I could learn from other people while sharing what I’ve learned along the way. A place where someone could read something I wrote and think, “Okay… so I’m not the only one going through this.” That means more to me than a perfect feed ever could.
Because I’m realizing that some of the most valuable things we have to offer each other aren't always the things we’ve mastered. Sometimes it’s the thing we’re currently learning. Sometimes it’s the mistake, the uncomfortable conversation, the business lesson, the failed plan, the new idea, the breakup, the new beginning, the moment you realize you’ve outgrown something, or the moment you realize you haven’t. Sometimes it’s the prayer you whispered when nobody else knew you were struggling or the little win that nobody else understands but you know it took everything in you to get there.
That’s the stuff I want to chat about.
Authentic Junkie was born from that feeling. I’m navigating a new space in my life a rebrand, a reset, a rebuilding, and a rediscovering of who I am. And I didn’t want to wait until everything looked perfect to start documenting it.
Because what would be the point?
I don’t want to show up here pretending I have all the answers. I want to show up honestly.
There are things I’m still healing from. There are things I’m still learning. There are parts of myself I’m still getting to know. There are patterns I’m unlearning and new ones I’m trying to create. And there are also some really beautiful things happening in my life that I’m learning to slow down enough to appreciate. That’s the balance.
You can be grateful and still want more. You can be blessed and still be tired. You can be confident and still have questions. You can be thriving and still have healing to do. And you can be in a complete mess and still be becoming something beautiful.
I created this space during a season of rebranding, rebuilding, and rediscovering myself not by becoming someone new, but by becoming more me. Life has a funny way of bringing us to moments where everything feels a little messy, uncertain, or completely different from what we imagined. And yet, somehow, we keep going. We keep dreaming. We keep loving. We keep showing up. That’s what Authentic Junkie is about. It’s for the person who may have lost hope but somehow still found the confidence to keep believing. It’s for the woman figuring it out in real time. It’s for the person thriving while still healing. Because the truth is, you can be a beautiful mess and still be making beautiful progress.
And what makes us able to do it?
God.
Faith has taught me that I don’t have to have everything figured out to keep moving forward. I can trust God while I’m rebuilding. I can celebrate where I am while acknowledging where I still need to grow. I can be grateful for the blessings while still doing the work.
God has kept me. He’s kept my family. He’s kept my mind when things felt overwhelming. He’s opened doors I didn’t know existed and closed doors I thought I needed. So even when I don’t understand the process, I’m learning to trust the One who does. And maybe that’s what this space is really about. Faith. Life. Growth. Love. Culture. Business. Motherhood. Ambition. Identity. The beautiful stuff. The complicated stuff. The stuff we don’t always post.
Authentic Junkie is for the people who may have lost hope but somehow still had enough faith or enough stubbornness to keep going. It’s for the person rebuilding their confidence. The person starting over. The person starting something for the first time. The person who looks like they have it all together but is still figuring out what “together” even means.
It’s for the dreamers. The creators. The entrepreneurs. The mothers. The lovers. The overthinkers. The people who are healing. The people who are hungry for more. The people who simply want to feel less alone.
And I hope while you’re here, you don’t just consume.
I hope you connect.
Tell me your story. Teach me something. Challenge my perspective. Share your experience. Celebrate with me. Laugh with me. Maybe we’ll even figure some things out together. Because I don’t want Authentic Junkie to just be a blog. I want it to feel like a space you can come back to. A space of healing. A space of love. A space of growth. A space of joy. A safe space. A happy space. A space where you can breathe, be inspired, be honest, learn something, and feel seen. A space where we don’t have to pretend that thriving means we’ve finished healing.
Because healing isn’t a one-time-and-done experience. Healing is ongoing. It’s evolving. It’s realizing that something you thought was normal wasn’t healthy. It’s choosing differently. It’s giving yourself permission to outgrow old versions of yourself. It’s learning how to love yourself in the places where you once criticized yourself. It’s unlearning patterns that no longer serve you and learning new ones that fit who you’re becoming.
Healing is a forever-evolving thing. And maybe that’s the beauty of it. We don’t have to have the final version of ourselves figured out. We’re allowed to change. We’re allowed to grow. We’re allowed to become someone we’ve never been before. This is going to be fun, transparent, and real. Here, we’re going to talk business, lifestyle, culture, self-love, motherhood, growth, faith, relationships, ambition, and everything in between. We’re going to talk about the wins, but we’re also going to talk about the lessons behind them. We’re going to celebrate the beautiful moments while being honest about the complicated ones.
Most importantly, we’re going to do it without pretending to have it all together. I want Authentic Junkie to be a place where people can come and discover something new, meet someone inspiring, learn from someone else’s experience, find a new perspective, or simply feel understood. I want it to be a community where we can connect, network, share ideas, create opportunities, and genuinely pour into one another. Because sometimes one conversation can change everything. One introduction can open a door. One story can give someone hope. One person believing in you can remind you to believe in yourself again.
Welcome to the Authentic Junkie Society.
Welcome to my new chapter.
Welcome to your new space.
Come as you are. Bring your dreams, your questions, your lessons, your wins, your mess, and your faith.
You don’t have to clean everything up before you walk through the door.
You don’t have to have the perfect plan.
You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.
Just come.
Maybe we’ll learn something. Maybe we’ll build something. Maybe we’ll heal something. Maybe we’ll laugh a lot along the way.And maybe, somewhere in the middle of all of it, we’ll realize that the life we thought was falling apart was actually making room for something better.
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about why I wanted to create this. And I keep coming back to one simple thought: I want to connect.
I want to connect because people matter.
I want to learn because I know I don’t know everything.
I want to inspire because I know what it feels like to need a little inspiration.
And I want to help because sometimes you don’t realize how much your experience can mean to someone else until you share it. So this is me sharing. Sharing the lessons. The dreams. The business. The lifestyle. The culture. The motherhood. The faith. The growth. The good days. The complicated days. The things I’m proud of and the things I’m still working through.
No perfect launch. No perfectly packaged version of me. Just Alycia.
Learning. Creating. Loving. Building. Healing. Believing. And becoming.
P.S. If you’re reading this at the beginning, just know… you were here before it was cool. 😉
